A patron recently wrote a post on the Three Rivers Library Facebook page asking more about the role of video games in Public Libraries. She passed along an interesting TED talk by Jane McGonigal, titled Gaming Can Make a Better World. The synopsis reads:
“Games like World of Warcraft give players the means to save worlds, and incentive to learn the habits of heroes. What if we could harness this gamer power to solve real-world problems? Jane McGonigal says we can, and explains how.”
Check out the TED talk and let us know what you think! Do you want to see more video game programs at TRPL? Do you think that they are beneficial for kids and young adults? What makes you apprehensive. Post your thoughts here!
